Superconducting Model Coil TFMC for ITER

EFDA, on behalf of EURATOM, contracted the European consortium AGAN to build the toroidal field model coil TFMC for the fusion reactor ITER. It was during the construction of TMFC that all important production steps and critical components for the coils required for ITER were manufactured and tested in prototype for the first time.

Bilfinger Noell manufactured the intermediate coil structure necessary for testing and inserted the model coil into the testing equipment.
