Prototype A HTS Current Feed for the LHC

Thanks to their low thermal conductivity, ceramic high-temperature superconductors used for the LHC current leads facilitate a reduction in heat load. The superconductors are used for temperatures ranging between 4 and 50 K.
The prototype of a current lead was developped and manufactured by Bilfinger Noell in cooperation with ATZ, Adelwitz.
