Feasibility Studies

The application for decommissioning nuclear plants necessitates proving the feasibility of dismantling or safe enclosure respectively. These studies are carried out during an early stage and enclosed with the application for dismantling as additional documentation.
The studies analyze, among other aspects, different concepts for dismantling the activated and highly-contaminated large components, ways to disassemble them, and the subsequent waste treatment taking into consideration their dose output. The volume of radioactive waste is estimated and classified.

Bilfinger Noell has performed feasibility studies and concept planning for a variety of research and power reactors in Germany and abroad.
