Bilfinger Noell presents concrete technology in hot cells at the symposium KONTEC 2021

10/12/2021

Under this year’s slogan „WE MAKE NUCLEAR WORK“ – Bilfinger Noell presented not only a broad portfolio of high-quality products and systems for the nuclear industry in general but delivered also specific solutions for individual demands regarding the treatment of radioactive waste in hot cells. The symposium KONTEC 2021 took place from the 25th to the 27th August 2021.

The Bilfinger Noell symposium slogan focussed on concreting hot cells using the example of a French waste treatment plant.

As an expert for proven and innovative plant engineering technology for waste treatment plants both for dismantling and new construction buildings of nuclear facilities worldwide, Bilfinger Noell presented efficient solutions from its product portfolio to the interested professional audience.

A plenary lecture by the Bilfinger Noell expert M. Sc. Joel Bauer completed the symposium appearance. In this lecture, the innovative further-developed cementing technologies and products were presented to the nuclear professional audience.

With the Business Line Nuclear, Bilfinger bundles its group-wide nuclear competences. Bilfinger Noell in Würzburg (Germany) has expertise in the areas of dismantling and waste treatment and does therefore cover an essential service sector.

Currently, Bilfinger Noell is delivering among others a cementation plant for the nuclear power plant Hinkley Point C in the UK.

Every two years the industry meets in Dresden and together with the symposium KONTEC (15th International Symposium “Conditioning of Radioactive Operational and Decommissioning Wastes” including 15th Status Report of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research “Decommissioning and Dismantling of Nuclear Facilities“) it is the centre of all important national and international players who focus on conditioning of radioactive operational and decommissioning wastes as well as dismantling of power reactors.

The symposium is one of the most important ones for Bilfinger Noell and offers a unique platform for networking and information exchange at all levels.
